PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To observe the butt-spliced part of optical fibers from the outside during work, and also to concentratedly add pressurizing force by a clamp on parts of optical fiber positioning grooves. SOLUTION: This optical fiber splicing device has a lower substrate 11, an upper substrate 12 for holding coating parts, a upper substrate 13 for holding naked optical fibers and a clamp 14 whose cross section is a U-shape and which holds the upper and lower substrates by pressurizing the upper faces of the upper substrates 12, 13 and the under face of the lower substrate 11 from the upper and lower sides with holding boards 14A, 14B. The upper substrate 13 for holding naked optical fibers is formed with transparent material and a convex lens 13 is formed at its shoulder part. Further, pressurizing projections 20, 21 for transmitting pressurizing force by the holding boards 14A, 14B to the upper and lower substrates by being concentrated are formed at positions of a width direction corresponding to the fiber positioning grooves 11a, 11b in the under face of the lower substrate and upper faces of the upper substrates.
