摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrodynamic bearing which can suppress the reduction of the oil film thickness in a subsidiary thrust bearing, and can surely prevent the direct contact of a thrust flange and a sleeve. SOLUTION: The hydrodynamic bearing is configured as follows. A shaft 4 having a thrust flange 3 attached thereto is arranged in the space inside a sleeve 2 in the state that the shaft 4 is inserted in the space, the sleeve 2 being closed by a thrust plate 1 at one end and being opened at the other end. The space is filled with a lubricating fluid 5. Radial bearings 6 are configured by forming hydrodynamic pressure generating grooves on opposed surfaces of the shaft 4 and the sleeve 2. A main thrust bearing 7 is configured by forming hydrodynamic pressure generating grooves on opposed surfaces of the thrust plate 1 and the thrust flange 3. The subsidiary thrust bearing 8 is configured by forming hydrodynamic pressure generating grooves on opposed surfaces of the thrust flange 3 and the sleeve 2. A tilting surface 3a is formed on the surface of the thrust flange 3 opposed to the sleeve 2 such that the clearance between the thrust flange 3 and the sleeve 2 increases with the distance toward the inside of the thrust flange 3.
