PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly bulky double knit circular knitted fabric which is lightweight, excellent in thickness-holding property, having a sufficient elasticity and also excellent in air permeability. SOLUTION: This elastic double knit circular knitted fabric of which loops on the fabric surface are joined with the loops on the fabric rear surface by joining yarns is provided by knitting the surface knitted fabric and rear surface knitted fabric by using an elastic yarn formed by 2 kinds of a resin A and a resin B, and constituted by a single yarn having a cross section where the resins A, B present unevenly, wherein one loop S1 on the knitted fabric surface is joined with one loop R1 on the knitted fabric rear surface by a joining yarn, and also the knitted fabric has a structure of joining a loop S2 which presents on the same course with the loop S1 and may be the same or different with the loop S1 on the knitted fabric surface with a loop R2 which presents on a different course from the loop R1 in the knitted fabric rear surface by a joining yarn.
