PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive superior in adhesiveness to a variety of plastic films, metals such as copper, aluminum and stainless steel and glass, excellent in heat resistance, moisture resistance and shelf life, and capable of exhibiting enhanced adhesion under both an elevated temperature condition and a room temperature condition, and a polyurethane resin for use in the adhesive. SOLUTION: This polyurethane resin is formed by coupling a first polyesterdiol segment containing a phenolic hydroxy group and/or an isocyanuric acid group as a functional group and a second polyesterdiol segment having a glass transition temperature by≥50°C lower than that of the first polyester diol segment via an organic polyisocyanate compound, wherein an acid value of the polyurethane resin is 200-700 eq/10<SP>6</SP>g.
