PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass for a vehicle window which can be manufactured without being subjected to a drying process and is free from coating irregularity; and to provide an apparatus for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In a thin film deposition apparatus 100 as the apparatus for manufacturing the glass for the vehicle window, a thin film 42 is deposited on a glass substrate 41 by supplying an excited discharge gas G', formed by introducing a discharge gas G into a discharge space area A and exciting at atmospheric pressure or at a pressure close to the atmospheric pressure, onto the glass substrate 41 while supplying a thin film deposition gas M containing an organometallic compound having an organic group containing a fluorine atom to the glass substrate 41.
