PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can cut and discharge a necessary printed article when required by a simple operation, and also, by which printed articles do not scatter, and which can safely discharge the printed articles. SOLUTION: This printer uses a rolled paper sheet as the printing paper sheet. The printer is equipped with a rolled paper feeding roller which feeds the rolled paper sheet for printing, a rolled paper discharging roller which discharges the printed rolled paper sheet, a rolled paper taking up means which takes up the printed rolled paper sheet, a cutting signal forming means which forms a cutting signal for the rolled paper sheet, and a cutting signal processing means which controls the winding back and the cutting of the rolled paper sheet in response to the printed state of the rolled paper sheet when received the cutting signal from the cutting signal forming means.
