IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

There are provided an image processing device and an image processing method capable of independently converting frequency characteristic of a particular hue component in a color image. The image processing device converts the frequency characteristic of first color data expressing a color image and outputs second color data corresponding to the first color data. The image processing device includes: hue area data calculation means for calculating first hue area data valid for a plurality of particular hue components in the color image expressed by the first color data by using the first color data; frequency characteristic conversion means for independently converting the frequency characteristic of the first hue area data for each of the hue components so as to output second hue area data; and means for calculating second color data by using the second hue area data.
