<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimal recording method for a phase-change type optical recording medium which can record at high recording linear velocity and can record at almost the same recording power as that of a normal low-speed compatible phase-change type optical recording medium even in low-velocity recording, and to provide good overwriting characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: In the recording method for a phase-change type optical recording medium, emission waveforms for recording are a plurality of pulse waveforms decided by peak power (Pp), erasing power (Pe), bias power (Pb), Pb irradiation time (OP) and Pb irradiation time (FP), the start time of a front pulse delays 0.5 to 1.25T (T is reference clock time) from the starting point of a first reference clock corresponding to an irradiation mark, and ending time is maximum T-OPm (OPm is Pp irradiation time of rear pulse) earlier than the ending point of a last reference clock. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
