PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive pulley having sufficient strength to an impact load with a ratchet nail formed on the rope reel side, moldable with plastic or the like to reduce manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The drive pulley 8 is formed like a cup having a cylindrical circumferential wall 17 integrally formed on one end side. Openings 18 to be engaged with a ratchet member 9 are formed at an interval of 90 degrees along the circumference in the cylindrical circumferential wall 17 of the drive pulley 8. An engagement surface 21 to be engaged with the ratchet member 9 is formed on a side edge of each opening 18 directed in an engine starting direction. A side edge 22 roughly perpendicular to or opened to be more than 90 degrees to the engagement surface is formed on the side edge of the opening 18 on the opposite side facing the engagement surface 31.
