PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing foamed body which absorbs/lowers shock from impact through a less deformation volume (shrink volume) by inserting it between materials to be impacted, in particular between feet and the ground, and also has a sufficient strength and lightness; and to provide a shoe sole member which lowers shock to feet at walking or running and a member for rugs such as a carpet and an artificial lawn. SOLUTION: The shock absorbing foamed body has 55-72% porosity, 0.5-4 MPa storage modulus and 0.18-0.80 loss tangent at 25°C and 30 Hz frequency, and 0.5-4.5 MPa storage modulus and 0.35-1.0 loss tangent at 25°C and 100 Hz frequency.
