PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method in a wireless cellular communication system including a radio network controller and a base station. SOLUTION: The method comprises steps of: receiving a plurality of orthogonal variable spreading factor codes from the radio network controller by the base station; evaluating a load situation by the base station; and, in the case the orthogonal variable spreading factor codes received from the radio network controller are insufficient with respect to a load situation, requesting a change of the number of orthogonal spreading factor codes from the radio network controller by the base station.
