PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable air zinc battery capable of stably discharge with a heavy load. SOLUTION: The air zinc battery comprises an air pole with a mixture of activated carbon and manganese oxide as a main catalyst substance, and a zinc negative pole with zinc as a negative pole active material. The manganese oxide uses a mixture of two kinds of manganese oxides having different average grain sizes, thus providing the air zinc battery where discharge performance is improved, heavy load discharge can also be made, and safety and reliability are increased as compared with before.
