PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an optical element part which lights up an image display element of a projection display device. SOLUTION: In the projection display device equipped with a relay lens 62 which collimates the luminous flux projected by a light source 1 into parallel luminous flux to light up the image display element (DMD) 7 and a prism 61 which guides the luminous flux projected from the relay lens 62 to the DMD 7 and also totally reflects the luminous flux reflected by the DMD 7 on a projection lens 8, the relay lens 62 is constituted as a lens integrated type prism 6 by being stuck on the total reflection surface of a prism 61. As compared with constitution wherein the relay lens and total reflecting prism are constituted as different bodies, the capacity and space of an optical system are reducible and the projection display device can be reduced in size and cost.
