COMBUSTOR DOME ASSEMBLY FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINE HAVING CONTOURED SWIRLER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustor dome assembly including swirlers contoured to be exposed to cooling troughs in radial sections of a dome plate. SOLUTION: The combustor dome assembly 10 comprises the annular dome plate 20 having the radial sections 37 formed between openings 36 with cooling troughs 35 and the free floating swirlers 26 installed on the upstream side of the dome plate while being aligned with the openings in the dome plate having a front part 50 and a rear part 52. The rear part of each swirler is constructed so that an air flow to the cooling troughs can be formed during the operation of a gas turbine engine. The rear part of the swirler includes an annular flange 74 extending adjacent to a front face 34 of the dome plate. Linear portions 95, 97 exist in opposition to a peripheral portion of the flange adjacent to the radial sections 37 of the dome plate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
