PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator for reducing the size, electric power consumption and an operation sound, lengthening the service life of a cooler, and reducing ozone. SOLUTION: This refrigerator has a metallic inner case 4 forming a refrigeration chamber 2, and having an ion releasing port 5, a Peltier element 20 having an endothermic surface 22 connected to an outside surface of the inner case 4, and cooling the inner case 4, and a negative ion generator 30 arranged outside the inner case 4, and releasing a negative ion in the inner case 4 via the ion releasing port 5, by generating the negative ion 36 without generating corona discharge, by emitting an electron from the tip vicinity of a needle-like electrode 32 by impressing negative high voltage on the needle-like electrode 32.
