PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position sensing device for a gearshift fork or a swinging piece for gearshifting, capable of generating an accurate distance signal for adjusting a gearshift sleeve which is operated by the gearshift fork. SOLUTION: The position sensing device applies to the gearshift fork or the swinging piece for gearshifting in a transmission device casing of a gearshift type transmission device favorably of automated type of an automobile. The arrangement includes a sensor 18 arranged stationarily at the casing and a position signaling unit 16 installed on the fork or the swinging piece, wherein the position signaling unit 16 is located at one end of the fork substantially.
