PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To granulate plastics without lowering productivity by detecting the quantity of abrasion of a cutter blade to correct the same in consideration of a change in slide resistance force Fr to obtain proper pressing force P. SOLUTION: In this method for correcting the pressing force of the cutter blade in a plastic underwater cutting device, the quantity of abrasion of the cutter blade (11) is detected by detecting the position of the cutter blade (11) of the underwater cutting device (1) by a position sensor (207) and compared with the reference quantity of abrasion and, on the basis of a comparing result, the pressure of the cutter blade (11) is adjusted to perform cutting under proper pressure.
