PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum washing machine efficiently washing laundry with a small amount of water and exhibiting sterilizing and disinfecting functions by forcedly circulating wash water inside a drum using steam generated from a steam generator and to provide the steam generator for the drum washing machine automatically generating the seam by sensing a water level by a water level sensor. SOLUTION: This drum washing machine comprises the drum 103 rotatably mounted inside a cabinet 101, a drive motor mounted in one side of the cabinet 101, the steam generator 200 mounted in one side of a washing machine body, a branch pipe 105 laid in the upper side of the drum 103, a first connecting hose 106 connecting the steam generator 200 to the branch pipe 105, a drain pipe 107 laid in the lower side of the drum 103, a second connecting hose 108 connecting the drain pipe 107 to the branch pipe 105, the circulating pump 109 mounted between the second connecting hose 108 and the drain pipe 107.
