METHOD FOR ASSAYING POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rapidly and economically assaying a polycyclic aromatic compound existing in the environment by a simple operation. SOLUTION: The method for assaying a polycyclic aromatic compound comprises culturing transformant yeast to which a mouse-derived Ah (aryl hydrocarbon) receptor gene and a mouse-derived Arnt (aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator) gene are transferred so as to express them in a chromosome together with a test article, forming a complex of the Ah receptor, the Arnt and a polycyclic aromatic compound in the cells of the cultured transformant yeast and detecting the complex.
