FLOODED VALVE REGULATED BATTERY CELL

A flooded valve regulated battery cell has a secondary negative plate in contact with a gas space in which oxygen from the cell reaction collects, and which is further in contact with the electrolyte. The secondary negative plate is electrically connected to the negative plate of the cell. A vent assembly in accordance with the present invention is provided, as is a method of converting conventional flooded cells into valve regulated cells.
