PURPOSE: A measuring gauge having a monitoring unit is provided to efficiently monitor the indication of the measuring gauge if the indication of the measuring gauge is beyond the range. CONSTITUTION: A measuring gauge having a monitoring unit includes a housing(10), a transparent display window(11), and a display surface(13). The housing(10) has a predetermined space and an opened front surface. The transparent display window(11) is installed in the inner side of the housing(10). The transparent display window(11) has a scale formed on an outer circumference of the housing(10). The position detection unit(20) detects the movement of the scale. The position detection unit(20) includes an indication detection sensor for detecting indication and a lamp turned on/off whether or not the indication detection sensor detects the indication. The indication detection sensor includes a light emitting unit and a light receiving unit.
