<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an equipment to process a used injection needle (hereinafter called the needle) on site, automatically, and immediately after its use because needle disposal is considered important since handling the needle is dangerous due to its sharp point and stuck blood. <P>SOLUTION: The processing equipment comprises a fixed petri dish (2) that has a blade (19) inside a peripheral wall, a curved wall plate (21) standing upright with a pin (23) and a blade (22) on a bottom face concentrically, and a motor shaft through-hole (17) and a needle outlet (18) clipped out of the bottom face; a petri dish cover (3) having a needle inlet (11) and a hot air blow-in opening (12); and a disk (1) that roughly slidably touches the inside of the petri dish bottom, whose peripheral sections are partially cut off, and that is rotated by a motor. According to the processing method to make the needle safe, the needle is dropped into a needle retaining chamber (10) moving in the same shape and to the same direction as the disk rotates, hot air from a heater blows into the needle retaining chamber when an operation switch turns on, and the disc starts to rotate while sterilizing the needle under the environment of high temperature. While vertical cut-off sides (14) of the disc are pushing the needle toward the peripheral wall, the blade, the pin, and the curved wall plate, they automatically bent the needle point toward its other end making an eggplant shape and eject the needle through the needle outlet (18) into a collecting case. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
