<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the cost of an image forming apparatus rises in the case of arranging a mechanism for detecting a margin part on recording paper when forming an image. <P>SOLUTION: A multifunction machine 1 is equipped with an image forming length calculation means 27 calculating image forming length P and margin length S in a recording paper transport direction by comparing the length in the transport direction of set image forming size with that of recording paper size being an image forming destination, a paper ejection sensor 31 arranged on a recording paper transport path 5, a duration table 30 in which heating duration at fixing temperature is set in accordance with the image forming length P, and a timer 29 commanding a target temperature setting means 26 to set target temperature to standby temperature after the heating duration corresponding to the image forming length P elapses from signal receiving time based on an edge detection signal by the sensor 31 when the margin length S is equal to or above specified length (100 mm). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
