PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear interpolation circuit capable of keeping increases in circuit scale and power consumption as small as possible even if input data varies from clock to clock. SOLUTION: All representative output data are divided into a plurality of groups so that the plurality of representative output data needed at the time of a linear interpolation process belong to different groups. The representative output data included in each group is stored in a respective lookup table. The linear interpolation process is carried out in accordance with the plurality of representative output data corresponding to input data and outputted from the lookup tables, to calculate output data that match the input data.
