PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a transfer belt device, to reduce the wear of the surface of a transfer belt so as to prolong the life of the transfer belt and also to prolong the life of a photoreceptor. SOLUTION: In the transfer belt device, rollers arranged in the transfer belt 5 are constituted of two rollers, that is, a transfer feed roller 4 and a driven roller 8, and the roller does not exist on the side opposed to a photoreceptor drum (inside the belt) 1 of the surface of the transfer belt 5 coming into contact with the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1.
