PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic multipole encoder allowing minimization of a single pitch error. SOLUTION: This magnetic multipole encoder has: at least one magnetic track for especially measuring an angle position of a crankshaft of an automobile, magnetized in a strip state such that polarity alternates; and at least one mark section for delimiting a reference position. The mark section includes: a central area not magnetized or only weakly magnetized; and two strips contacting with the central area on both the sides of the central area, magnetized with the same polarity as each other.
