PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptor for a gas meter that can be mounted to the gas meter more easily and can secure higher reliability, and to provide the gas meter. SOLUTION: The adaptor (50) for gas meters includes a case section for accommodating a control circuit for adding specified functions to the gas meter (1). The adaptor (50) comprises: a case body section (51), where the case section is nearly in a box shape and the side is partially an opening section; and a detachable lid section for covering the opening section. A projecting section and a recessed section are provided at the bottom of the lid section, and a lid side mounting section is provided at the top of the lid section. Then, the projecting section or the recessed section at the bottom of the lid section is fitted to the recessed section or the projecting section at the bottom of the opening section in a case body section, a lid-side mounting section (52a) at the top of the lid section is fixed to a body-side mounting section (51b) of the case body section by a fixing member (52d), thus achieving a structure for fixing the lid section to the case body section.
