PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition consisting essentially of a biodegradable resin and a vegetable fiber material, and having both of good color tone and mechanical properties. SOLUTION: The resin composition comprises 50-95 mass% biodegradable resin (A) and 50-5 mass% vegetable fiber material (B) subjected to delignification treatment. Preferably, the biodegradable resin (A) is a polyester resin such as a polylactic acid, a polybutylene succinate, a polyethylene succinate and a copolymer thereof, and the vegetable fiber material (B) subjected to the delignification treatment is selected from kenaf, wood flour, waste paper, and the like.
