PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a copolymer having excellent weather, water and heat resistances, adhesion, transparency and solubility in solvents and to provide the copolymer produced by the method and a curable composition comprising the copolymer. SOLUTION: The method for producing the copolymer is carried out as follows. A radical-polymerizable monomer having an alicyclic structure and composed of only a carbon atom, a hydrogen atom and an acrylic or a methacrylic ester having a reactive functional group other than a double bond and an acrylic or a methacrylic ester without having the reactive functional group other than the double bond are subjected to radical polymerization at 150-300°C temperature.
