PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retractable outer mirror, having an auxiliary mirror for viewing the neighborhood of the front wheels, having good design shape, and will not reflect the head light of an oncoming vehicle by the auxiliary mirror, and further can exhibit the functions of an auxiliary mirror, even at night and in dark places. SOLUTION: The retractable-type outer mirror is configured by a mirror base 10, projecting from the side surface of a car body S of an automobile in the lateral direction, and a mirror housing 20 rotatably hung from the mirror base 10 so as to form a space V in between the car body S and the mirror housing 20. In addition, a first auxiliary mirror 30 is provided on a side surface 20a of the mirror housing 20 facing the car body S, and the mirror surface of the first auxiliary mirror 30 is directed obliquely downward.
