Apparatus for and method of handling material in particulate and/or divided form characterised in that during delivery thereof from a supply position to a receiving position (6) by a material delivery system involving allowing material to fall from a supply thereof to the receiving receiving position (6) including cushioning means (9) or so cushioning the rate of flow of material during its transit between the supply position and the receiving position as to reduce risk of damage to the materials during said delivery. The cushioning means includes, for each rigid part (15,16,19,20)) of the apparatus likely to be contacted by material whilst in the delivery thereof a covering of an impact cushioning material (22) is covered by a flexible covering material (23) presenting a non-abrasive surface to any said material. |
