<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create images of a subject in varying ages from one image of the subject in his true age in such a manner that for rejuvenation changes, the skin is revitalized to give a natural feel free of wrinkles, and that for aging changes, the skin is aged and wrinkled to give a natural feel matching the true age. <P>SOLUTION: Shape data SA, SB and texture data TA, TB are extracted from average face images GA, GB for two generations, a virtual age and the true age. Differential shape data δS and differential texture data δT calculated as their differences are combined with the shape data SR and the texture data TR of the true-age image to create images GC of the subject in varying ages in such a manner that, for aging changes, the differential texture data δT is subjected to an image emphasis process to emphasize wrinkles to make the skin age in a natural way, and that for rejuvenation changes, weighted averages are calculated for chromaticness components and luminance components in the texture data TR, TA of the image GR of the true age and the average face image GA of the same generation to smooth and unwrinkle the skin in a natural way for rejuvenation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
