<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolled type electrode assembly; and to provide a secondary battery equipped with it. <P>SOLUTION: This electrode assembly has: a first electrode strip 21 including a first electrode collector 22 coated with at least a first electrode active material 23, and having an exposed portion of the electrode collector 22 attached with a first electrode tab 25; a second electrode strip 31 including a second electrode collector 32 coated with at least a second electrode active material 33, rolled together with the electrode strip 21, and having an exposed portion of the electrode collector 32 attached with a second electrode tab; and at least one inter-electrode strip separator 40 interlaid between the electrode strips 21 and 31. In the electrode assembly, one or more sheets of protective separators 41b and 42b, which are integrally extended from the inter-electrode strip separator 40, is further positioned on a side of the electrode strip 21 in a part where the electrode tab 25 is attached to the electrode strip 21.
