<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking aid which allows an invalid to walk by oneself stably and safely in a walking movement and posture and at a pace similar to those of a healthy person. <P>SOLUTION: The walking aid 1 comprises a fork 3 having a bifurcated lower section, a seat 12 mounted on the top end of the fork 3 so that it is movable in the vertical direction, and a wheel 2 supported rotatably by the fork 3. A freewheel 28 having a lever 29 is mounted on an axle 6 of the wheel 2. When the lever is pushed forward, the wheel 2 rotates via the freewheel 28, and when the lever is pulled this side, the freewheel 28 idles. By operating the lever 20, an user can walk at a pace similar to that of a healthy person, and even a person having difficulty in walking can walk stably without wobble at a moving speed similar to that of normal walking. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
