PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water jet propelling device, by which cavitation hardly occurs because a water intake is smoothly performed, even when a fully high-speed sailing, and the so-called "breathing" phenomenon where generation of the jet propulsion cannot completely follow the acceleration of an engine, i.e., increase in the number of revolutions, and where the followability is not established. SOLUTION: This water jet propelling device pressurizes water which is taken in from an intake duct 10 by a pump 20 and generates a propelling force by a reaction force to push out a jet stream from a jetting nozzle 30. An introduction wing 40, having a wing cross section, is attached to the intake duct 10. By the reaction force of a lifting force which is applied to the introduction wing 40, water which advances horizontally is bent in the vertical direction in the intake duct 10, and is taken into the pump 20.
