PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To project a projection image which is free of trapezoidal distortion on a screen even when an apparatus itself is slanted and used. SOLUTION: The projector apparatus 1 which has a housing 2 in a rectangular parallelepiped shape and is normally laid is equipped with a projection lens 3 which is provided to one of a couple of flanks adjacent to the reverse surface of the housing 2, a base part 3 which is provided to the other flank adjacent to the reverse surface of the housing 2 and stored in the housing 2, and projects from the housing 2 when the apparatus is placed in a different way to obliquely support the apparatus itself so that the projection lens 3 faces obliquely upward, a position detection part 14 which detects the installation state of the housing 2 from which the base part 3 projects, and a signal processing part 13 which performs an operation based upon a correction quantity corresponding to the detection result of the position detection part 14 to correct trapezoidal distortion.
