PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise absorber in which a noise absorption core is fixed to a fixing plate extremely easily and effectively without increasing the number of component items and without requiring a troublesome screwing work, or the like. SOLUTION: In the noise absorber where a tubular noise absorption core 2 is fixed to the circumference of a signal transmission cable 12 being secured to a fixing plate, a substantially square drop hole part 4 having a width L2 wider than the width L1 of the noise absorption core 2 is provided in the fixing plate 3, notch type cable holding parts 5 having corner parts C and E each shaped into a curved surface or a curve are provided on the left and right of the drop hole part, the noise absorption core 2 is dropped into the drop hole part 4, and the signal transmission cables 12 located at the opposite ends thereof are inserted into the cable holding parts 5 and held in place.
