PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device having high light extraction efficiency, high luminance in a specific direction and a high light utilization factor. SOLUTION: A light extraction sheet 1 is mounted on a light extraction surface 31 of an organic EL device 3, and a prism sheet 2 is mounted on the extraction sheet 1. The extraction sheet 1 is a member composed by forming, on the light extraction side 12, a plurality of projecting parts 13 protrusive with respect to a light introduction surface 11; the shape of each projecting parts 13 is a regular quadrangular pyramid with a bottom surface 13a set on a flat surface nearly parallel with a surface contacting the extraction surface 11. The prism sheet 2 is provided with a light entering surface 21 set nearly parallel with the extraction surface 11, and is a device composed by forming, on the light emitting side 22, a plurality of second projecting parts 23 protrusive with respect to the entering surface 21; and the shape of each projecting part 23 is a regular quadrangular pyramid.
