PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an optical connector for inexpensively manufacturing an optical connector of low splicing loss in which an optical fiber having a small diameter is fixed in a ferrule of normal size. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the optical connector includes a step of fixing an optical fiber 1 in a ferrule 2, and in the step, a member 5 for alignment for aligning the optical fiber 1 and the ferrule 2 is provided at one end of the optical fiber 1 which is put into the ferrule 2 and the optical fiber 1 is fixed in the ferrule 2 by applying predetermined tension to the fiber 1 so that the member 5 for alignment is abutted on the end face 2s of the ferrule 2.
