PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method, capable of detecting poor cutting in pullout binding high in reliability with a small space for installation. SOLUTION: The cut pull-out binding inspection device 1 comprises a feed means 10 for feeding the pullout binding B heading the back part of the same, the square 30 being in contact with the back E1 of the pull-out binding B and the sides E2, and the sensor 40 for detecting clearances between the square 30 and each side of the pull-out binding B. The pull-out binding B is conveyed by the feed means 10 aslant with respect to the square 30, and when the back E1 of the pull-out binding B abuts the stop side 33 of the square 30, and the head or tail side E2 abuts the guide side 35, the pull-out binding B is stopped. Pull-out bindings B with proper perpendicularity precisely abuts the square 30, but ones with poor perpendicularity generates clearance gaps between the sides of the pull-out binding B and the square 30.
