PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of clogging in a return pipe due to a fixing phenomenon, while preventing blow of the fluidizing gas from a fluidized bed through the return pipe. SOLUTION: This circulation fluidized bed furnace is provided with the fluidized bed 1 filled with the fluidizing medium M to flow, a conduit 2 for the exhaust gas G containing the fluidized bed medium M discharged from the fluidizing 1, a hot cyclone 3 connected to the conduit 2, and the return pipe 4 for returning a solid matter S containing the fluidizing medium M collected by the hot cyclone 3 to the fluidized bed 1. The return pipe 4 is provided with a return pipe inside filling height control means 22 for controlling filling height of the fluidizing medium M inside the return pipe 4.
