PURPOSE: A method and a system for an article rental service formed through the communication network are provided to offer an effective marketing method by offering the method/system for buying/lending an article through the communication network, and easily offer economical profits to a user by committing a bought article to a lender and making the lender lend the article to a customer. CONSTITUTION: A purchase request receiver(301) receives a purchase request for a product from the user. An article seller(302) performs a product selling procedure by responding to the purchase request and offering points to the user. A rent request receiver(303) receives a rent request for the product from the user. A rent request processor(304) transmits rent request information to the lender by responding to the rent request. A rent information receiver(305) receives rental fee information associated with rent of the product from the lender. A rent reward transmitter(306) transmits reward price information corresponding to the rental fee to the user based on the rental fee information.
