PURPOSE: A method for improving a display speed of a multi-gray LCD is provided to read video signal information of 4 pixels at a time, and to simultaneously output the read information in byte unit, thereby reducing a load of a controller and increasing a processing speed of the video signals. CONSTITUTION: A controller decides whether multi-gray video information is displayed on a display(S100). If so, the controller starts operating a counter(S110). The controller reads information on 4 pixels in byte unit, and transmits the read information to a buffer in byte unit(S120). The controller increases a value counted by the counter by 1(S130). The controller decides whether to repeat the displaying process(S140). If not, the controller completes the procedure.
