<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face verifying apparatus, which reduces the exclusion rate for a person himself by performing the most effective verification for persons to be verified and improves the whole verification success rate. <P>SOLUTION: The face verifying apparatus determines whether a person to be verified is the person himself, by comparing a face image inputted by the person to be verified with pre-registered dictionary information. When verification is not successful, the factors are analyzed and controllable factors are automatically controlled so that the most appropriate verification can be performed for the person to be verified.
