<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for reducing a heating medium consumption in separating equipment of metal compound plastic waste. <P>SOLUTION: The subject method for reducing the heating medium consumption in the separating equipment of the metal compound plastic waste, in which the metal compound plastic waste is immersed in a separation tank where the heating medium is contained, and is separated into the metal and plastics, is characterized in that a surfacing substance scraper 1 dipping up surfacing substances in the separation tank has an angle of inclination θ in the range of 30 to 60°.
