<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design-free position detector which is easily installed at low cost anywhere. <P>SOLUTION: A detection unit 3, having a sensor part for detecting the position of the shadow of an object 4 located inside a detection area 1, and having a light source part for emitting light toward the detection area is provided in an outside of the detection area. A retroreflecting material 2 is provided only on one side of the detection area to retro-reflect the light from the light source, without covering the detection area. The retroreflecting material and the detection unit are constituted so as to sandwich the detection area therebetween. Installed positions of the retroreflecting material and the detection unit are respectively, for example, any one of the ceiling face, the floor face or a wall face of a building. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
