PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keyword extracting device efficiently and precisely extracting a keyword while improving the descriptiveness and reusability of information on keyword extraction. SOLUTION: This keyword extracting apparatus is provided with a pattern housing means having at least a keyword component pattern described with a normal expression comprising a character string which can be a component of a keyword, a keyword component extraction means performing the matching of character strings in a text and the keyword component pattern and extracting all the character strings matching with the keyword component pattern and but not mutually overlapping from the text as keyword components, a keyword candidate set generation means generating a keyword candidate set from each keyword component and a keyword output means outputting each keyword candidate of the keyword candidate set as a keyword.
