PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to acquire decision information on whether or not desired performance is attained at each time when a section to be replaced by hardware is selected from functions described in a source program. SOLUTION: This design system is provided with; a software information storage section 13 which memorizes software information in which an algorithm is described; a hardware information storage section 23 which memorizes hardware information; a processor information storage section 33 which memorizes information on a processor; a hardwarized section specifying section 16 which specifies an algorithm of a hardwarized section; a hardware change section 18 which generates a hardware description from the algorithm of the hardwarized section, and changes the hardware information and processor information; a software modification section 17 which transposes the algorithm of hardwarized section to the algorithm which controls the hardware concerned and changes the software information; and a performance analysis section 41 which analyzes performance from the software information, the hardware information, and the processor information which have been changed.
