PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic having excellent characteristics of collagen, free from risk causing infection of pathogen and transmission of a pathogenic factor and having high safety. SOLUTION: The cosmetic has at least an amino acid sequence represented by the Pro-Y-Gly (wherein Y is Pro or Hyp) and is composed of a synthetic polypeptide forming a collagenous structure. The polypeptide may exhibit a positive Cotton effect in 220-230 nm wavelength and exhibit a negative Cotton effect in 195-205 nm in a circular dichroism spectrum. At least a part of the polypeptide may form a triple helical structure. The cosmetic may be a powdery cosmetic, a solid or semi-solid cosmetic or a liquid cosmetic. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
