PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device for a tool holder engagement part of a spindle device in a machine tool for supplying air for cleaning with appropriate pressure in response to the case of normal finishing work of a workpiece or the case of precise finishing work. SOLUTION: A taper shank 14a of a tool holder 14 is engaged with a tapered hole 13a of a spindle 13 rotatably supported by a spindle head 12 of the spindle device 11. The spindle 13 is provided with an air passage 13b and an air jet nozzle 13c. The air for cleaning is supplied from an air feeder 16 to the air passage 13b. A normal pressure air feeding route L1 and a high pressure air feeding route L2 are connected in parallel to a pressure air supply source 21, and a boosting device 42 and a tank 43 are connected to the high pressure air feeding route L2. An air pressure changing mechanism 47 is disposed in a converging section 22h of both feedings routes L1 and L2. When the normal finishing work of the workpiece is performed, normal pressure air is supplied from the air feeding route L1.
